Phoebe Knapp lived here in 1894 for a short time after she moved out of the Knapp Mansion on Bedford Ave. She paid $90,000.00 for this 4 story Brownstone 20 Feet wide x 100 feet deep. She moved from here lock, stock & pipe organ in 1895 into a suite at the Savoy Hotel where she lived out the last 14 years of her life.
One thing that didn't change with the move from Brooklyn to Manhattan were the parades going by the Knapps front door. This one us taking place in 1897.
