Mr. Martin Van Lith of Brookhaven, NY
Marty is quite a local historian and along with his wife Anita are true champions of many righteous causes. We were in grade and high school together, but only reconnected around 2003 because of this website. We have had our share of adventures again out on the bay and there are several web pages devoted to that called More Boating He was an immense help to me in doing the research for the book eg when he introduced me to the now late Fred Gillespie. Marty also wrote a pretty darn good review of the book.

Mr. G. M. ( a true Oldsmobile man ) Tampa, FL
Gary Messinetti is another old friend and Mastic Beach Pioneer, who reconnected with me after decades, because of this website in 2002. There's a real nice story about his father and uncle's business located here. Pat & Mikes was like a community center for our home town in the '50s & '60s especially for us gear heads.

Mr. Phil Van Tassel of Blaine, MN
Sgt. Phil is now a VERY close friend who I have known since the mid 1950's but he never knew I existed until this website
brought us together in 2004. There is a pretty good story about how all that jazz happened located here
Mr. Tom East of Haymarket ,VA
Tom is one of the many wonderful new friends I have met long distance because of the website and now this book. This has happened for the many different reasons, subjects and things the Knapp family were involved with. Tom's interests I know are very near and dear to J. P. Knapp's heart. Just look at his shelves and you can almost hear J P Knapp shout DUCKS ! out loud like he did in 1937, when he founded Ducks Unlimited. I can see JP & TE out in a blind or marsh somewhere under a winter sky. Tom is president of the Potomac Decoy Collectors Association in DC and has been very helpful in all matters relating to the original Joe Knapp Club.

BOB LaCENTRA & ME NASHVILLE, TN NOV 5, 2010
Bob is an old school chum from Floyd. We were in 5th grade together on through high school in '64. We both had the distinction in our younger days of owning and driving Fordillacs that were built by the legendary team of Bill Frick & Ted Tappet. Bob got his first, a Forest Green '50 Ford Club Coupe with a souped up '54 Caddy Engine and I followed with a '33 Ford with the same kind of awesome Caddy power . Bob was driving through Nashville on his way to Texas and visited for a spell getting a personal look at many Knapp and Mastic artifacts that helped make up the book.
