Nick Hansen's was located on the North East corner of the Lagoon

Before The DDT Trucks Came Around You

Had To Spray Your Own. Alida Vandenburg's Store was on the corner

It was located on the end of Beaver Dr. and there actually was a Mike (Martino) in '37. Not sure if Walter was still around or what his last name was. The Mike & Walter name stayed through three different owners before it became Longo's then Keenan's. The much improved shack is now a fantastic home with a million dollar view.

Dugan's Very Old Trucks were still making

their rounds in the mid 50's.

Mastic Beach had many many fishing stations in the '30's.

Bill Bailey lived in Rocky Point which was another Home Guardian

community on the North Shore that used the same street names.

Sal & Tess Azzatto were renting and operating the Mastic Beach Hotel from Paul Schulte. When it burned to the ground in November of '37 they built their own place a block way that became a permanent fixture known for over 50 years as the Sand Bar.
