1954 Returning from a parade. My Dad
is standing on the extreme rear of the truck. Others in the pic

I bet my folks were at this dance. I remember
the carnivals and bazaars held in the parking lot and the tournaments
we used to attend all over Long Island. I saw the Department in
action too, many times. Starting
with the fire in our backyard my Mom set accidentally. Tons
of brush fires through the years, St. Andrews, Knapps Chicken
coop, and more and of course the Big One..... Knapp's mansion.
