DODGE CITY & DODGE BALL
"FREEZE ! BLACKIE ......... I'M TAKIN' YOU IN"
If you think that scene is on the Shirley Drive in screen...think again. It's in the wild west of Patchogue circa 1959. On the corner of Sunrise Highway and Waverly Avenue in a town called Dodge City. Dodge City was a very short lived, low budget theme park that went belly up after a season or two. The buildings however wound up for a time in Mastic Beach in a lot along side of Mae Boury's gift shop. The guy who brought them in in the middle of the night on old flat bed trailers was told to get out of town by the MBFD. He did taking most of his buildings with him to Center Moriches....one or two however wound up staying in the Beach at the Longo Fishing Station at the foot of Beaver Drive.
