SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS: GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH MASTIC BEACH

Circa 1954

Grace Lutheran Church was the last church in Mastic Beach to get it's own building in the 1950's. Thereby joining St. Andrew's, St. Jude's and Mastic Beach Hebrew Center. I'm not sure where they were meeting here, it looks like it might be The American Legion Hall.

When we first moved there in 1950, I recall going to Sunday School classes at the MBPOA, that my sister Gerry taught along with her school friend Barbara Hall. Barbara Hall Davis is pictured here the second from left next to the woman holding the girl. In this crowd are several familiar faces from William Floyd School. Front Row 7th from left is Richie Siegel (Class of '64) His mom is on the top steps right. Others I recognise are Betsey Jensen red hair& arms folded far left front, Randy Cruise near top step left and the guy who sent me the photo , Phil Van Tassel in front of him in dark jacket.
