Man oh man .....Lots of memories here...lots of summers too. Straight on is the remains of the bulkhead fishing pier. The beach was on the left. The big house now sits where Mike & Walter's Fishing Station was. For a Beach Ten Story or two click here

heading east along the shore towards the Lagoon we passed by the remains of "our dock". This is where we kept the Little Chief 1960-63 bravely facing the open bay

 

This was one of the original big drawing cards for selling the town. Before 1926 there was only a very small pond at the end of where Whittier & Lakeview Drives would meet up with Elm Rd. Home Guardian dredged out the canal that connected the two and the rest is history. For more about the lagoon click here

And that's why Van Lith is the Captain of this boat. Here he is pondering whether or not we should continue eastward to Forge River or head back. The wind was not laying down and we had to face it head on all the way back not to mention my hat had already blown into Pattersquash Creek so......
