For a guy who controlled one of
largest publishing houses in the world. J. P. Knapp had very little
to say in print. Bill Chenery his longtime editor at Colliers'
, wrote about Knapp in his 1954 memoir It Seemed To Me saying
although they would have HUGE disagreements at times he never
told me what to put or take out of the magazine.
When J. P. did write something,
he did it in magazines other than what he owned. Here's a condensed
