Blues For Johnny ....

Johnny "Maestro" Mastrangelo , truly had one of the Unique Great Voices in American Pop Music. It went silent on us in late March. Born in New York City, he lived in Islip, Long Island in his later years, before moving to Florida around 2002 where he kept on singing and performing until January of 2010.

Johnny Left A Legacy Of Great Recorded Work That Will Live On Forever.

This tune, written over 50 years ago by the great tunesmith Luther Dixon & Allyson Kent, was originally slated to be a B side of a single called "Beside You" back when Johnny was lead singer with the Crests. Some music history was made when disc jockeys started playing the B side. Today I sat down at my piano played it, then turned on my garage band recorder program .... the end result I'm calling "Blues For Johnny", But I'm Sure You'll Know It's Rightful Title, When You Click On It.
