SECTIONS 4 & 5
And The Future Town Of Mastic Beach
Opened 1927 & 1930

NEW TOWN? IT IS STILL NO TOWN
Sections 4 & 5 were carved out of the Richard Floyd / Robert Estate known as "Pattersquas" The Five Corners Intersection of Mastic, Neighborhood Rds & Bayview & Cranberry Dr show Nothing Yet Other Than The Caretakers House #2. Most noticibly absent is Paul Schulte's 5 Corners Market (later Fishers Market) which was the cornerstone for the towns buisness district that developed in the next decade. His famous Tavern did not arrive until 1933 a year after Electricity did and when prohibition ended. That's Pattersquas Mansion aka future Bayview Hospital # 1 At about the time of this photo Hollywood screenwriter John Howard Lawson had just purchased it. There are many outbuildings and barns visible like # 3 which was on the corner of the future Clearview Drive acros from the future Fire House.

ROBERTS REMANANTS
A few of the larger outbuildings and guest houses of the Robert Estate #1 Is the current location of The Cranberry Cottage

AS YOU CAN SEE THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE AT MASTIC ON THE SEA
When Josephine Lanier put the Pattersquas Estate up for sale in 1925 She Advertised it as "Mastic On The Sea"
This is the south end of Sheep's Pen / Doctors Point area and in 1930 it still looks very barren.
