The Knapps Lived Here Too ...
SEVEN OAKS PLANTATION - JOHNS ISLAND , CHARLESTON, S.C.
Winter Home of Clairedale Kennels 1925 - 1935
Claire Knapp Penney's oldest daughter, Margaret Penney Newcombe ( 1926-2007 ) described living here as a child as pure heaven on earth. Of all the very fine Knapp homes, located all over the eastern part of USA and Canada that I have seen, I would say that after seeing these newly discovered photos (Jan 2014) , Peggy, was not exagerating. Knowing that so many Knapp homes have succumbed to time, arson ( I was an eyewitness to that one) and the wrecking ball, it is nice to see this survivor still standing. Have a look for yourself.
