In the 1940 Mastic Beach Directory that's on the site, I asked the readers if anyone knew anything about Bill Kohman Boats & The Anchorage on Cranberry Drive who has a full page Ad in the directory. Larry it turns out lived next door to the Kohmans and took this first picture in the winter of 1958. He said Bill who he only recalls seeing a few times, left the area in the early '50's, but his wife Shirley stayed on. Behind the house & garage is the Kohman shop (roof is visible) that Larry recalls "being filled with wood, tools and a few pinup girls ....a fascinating place"

MEMORIAL DAY 1959
Marching somewhere along Neighborhood Road are Al Fahie , Larry Collins. and possibly Donald Hulse foreground.Watching from his bike is none other than Guido Michelini a 7th grade classmate of mine. It was probably around the time that Larry took the photo in the snow that Guido & I were getting into trouble in a kayak on Knapp's Secret Pond
